This training is an overview of waterway
permits with an emphasis on the methods and techniques required for the
completion of waterway permits applications for ODOT projects. This
one-day training course will be based on ODOT’s Waterway Permits Manual,
Sections 401 and 404 on the Clean Water Act, and Ohio’s Isolated Wetland
laws, ORC 6111.

preparation of waterway permit applications such as Principal
Investigators, Project Directors, and Project Managers with direct
involvement with scoping, executing, reporting, and approving waterway
permit work are required to attend.
Firms may send other staff members such
as Environmental Specialists, Planners, and other Ecological/Permits
Professional; however they are not required to send all environmental
staff to the training. |

This is a one-week
class designed to help Project Managers gain a better understanding of the
various aspects of planning and project development and to guide them in
making better NEPA process decisions when working on transportation
projects. Consultants who want to become prequalified with ODOT to
prepare Environmental Assessments (EAs) or Environmental Impact Statements
(EISs) are required to take this class to meet prequalification
requirements. And, Project Managers over Major ODOT transportation
projects are required to take this class.
