Update
COLUMBUS ---The following information is a comprehensive list of
interstate construction for the Christmas and New Years Holidays. The Ohio Department of
Transportation urges motorists to plan ahead, watch for stopped traffic and obey the
posted speed limits.
Central Ohio
Interstate 270 Franklin County -
(Westerville section)
Traffic maintained on I-270 for widening between east of Worthington-Galena Road
and SR 3 (Westerville). Ramp closures: I-71 southbound ramp to I-270 eastbound and I-270
eastbound to I-71 northbound ramp.
Interstate 270 Franklin County - (Dublin section)
Traffic maintained in two lanes both directions for road
widening on I-270 from US 33/SR 161 to SR 315.
Northeast Ohio
Interstate 77 - Cuyahoga Co. (Cleveland)
Two narrow lanes of traffic are maintained in each direction on the Kingsbury
Bridge (located between E. 30th Street and I-490) with the northbound lanes crossing over
to the southbound side. Six ramps are closed in this area: I-77 northbound exit ramp to E.
30th Street, E 30th Street southbound entrance ramp to I-77, I-77
southbound ramps to E. 55th Street/I-490 westbound, and I-490 east and west to
I-77 northbound.
Interstate 271 Northbound - Cuyahoga Co. (SE Cleveland)
Traffic maintained in two lanes on I-271 northbound from Columbus Rd. to Miles Rd.
(south of I-480) will be shifted to the right. Speed limits are reduced. Motorists
should expect short delays.
Southeast Ohio
US 50/SR 32 - Athens County
Traffic maintained for major construction of four separate widening projects
between Coolville and Athens. A speed limit of 45 mph is strictly enforced.
Southwest Ohio
Interstate 71 - Hamilton Co.
Traffic restricted for reconstruction in downtown Cincinnati (Fort Washington
Way) with various lane and ramp closures. 7-foot width restriction in place. Alternate
route: I-275.
Other Ohio Routes
SR 32 - Jackson Co.
Closure of four lanes of SR 32 between Jackson County Road 38 (Hiram West Road)
and County Road 39 (Mulga Road) approximately 1 1/4 miles east of the junction of SR 327
(southeast of Wellston) due to underground mine voids below the roadway. Contractors have
started corrective work. Detour: SR 327, SR 93, US 50.
US 23 - Pike Co.
Lane restrictions on US Route 23 south of Waverly for replacement of six bridges.
Northbound and southbound traffic has been transferred into the northbound lanes. An
11-foot lane width restriction in the northbound driving lane. A speed limit of 35
mph in the construction zone is strictly enforced.
US 52 - Lawrence Co.
Closure of westbound driving lane of US Route 52 at the Ashland Bridge for
landslide repair project. Traffic maintained in two westbound lanes of traffic - one
through lane and one left turn lane to the Ashland Bridge. Closure of center lane of the
Ashland Bridge that leads from Ashland, Ky. to Ohio. A 12-foot width restriction is in
place.
